The Rainsfords – February 2009
Feb 24th, 2009 | Guy & Susan Rainsford, Missionaries
Dear Friends,
I am off to the village today and would like your prayers. Abi has told me recently that there are m ‘evangelists’ coming into his area to preach Is. These m ‘outsiders’ even want to build a msq. in the Chief’s village. Abi’s response? Praise God, he clings stronger to his new found faith in Jesus Christ. He plans to organize the new believers into a “Christian Farmers” group to farm together, pray together, worship together, and produce a surplus which will be given to widows and those in need. I am amazed at his heart and vision for the Lord.
Pray also for the m religious leader who has become a friend and is more and more interested in Christianity. His wife, H, needs your prayers for her healing. Pray that God will give me more opportunities to share the faith with him. Abi is also praying for his salvation. He and I have already had a very honest & friendly conversation about my daily walk with the Lord and his daily religious practices. He is a learned man.
Pray for me as I share the creation story with them tonight. This story is one of the chronological Bible stories I have memorized to tell as a narrative story. Remember this is how the Biblical stories of the faith were passed down through the generations. In low literacy areas this method of conversing about the truth works well.
Pray also for Susan. We head to
I will update you with my trip to the village and Susan’s surgery.
Thank you for your prayers for Sarah She is being cared for by the Chief’s wife. We have ordered her wheel chair.
Blessings and thanks for standing in prayer with us.
Under the mercy,
Guy & Susan
